• don’t exert so much will upon this situation that you miss a fortuitous opportunity ~ don’t get a superiority complex - you are not THAT smart ~ don’t over analyze ~ get out now while you can ~ drop the pretense ~ lose the superiority complex ~ don’t stick your nose in where it doesn’t belong ~ use your wit as a shield - not a sword.
• you’re trying too hard - too much will power at work ~ you’re thinking too much.
• wit does not take the place of knowledge ~ wit is the salt of conversation - not the food ~ he that is full of himself is empty ~ he that knows least commonly presumes most ~ kids cannot be quiet ~ it’s not the hike up the mountain that hurts - it’s the pebble in your shoe ~ many that are wits in jest are fools in ernest ~ a fool attempting to be witty - is an object of profoundest pity.
