Just for fun, I decided to take the information about dew points given on Wikipedia and add my own "comfort index" lines, to show which combinations of temperature and dew point create different kinds of comfort or discomfort zones. Because... sometimes it's cool and clammy, and other times it's hot and steamy. No one ever shows what I've shown below. So I invented my own chart! This image is reduced 50%. If you download it, it will open at twice the size and be more readable. |

I wanted a conversion chart with visual dividers to help find each number. Originally it was just a decimal equivalent chart, but then I added points, and then added clock times, and then added the 304.8 ppi used by our print department to equal 120 ppc. |

When I started working at Britannica.com I decided to make this Web Safe Colors by Hue chart. I don't think in CMYK or RGB or Hexadecimal. I think in HSB. So thought... why not arrange web safe colors that way. I also made in between colors by dithering adjacent colors. |

I was making jewelry out of wood and a scroll saw. In order to spray paint the cut out shapes I converted an old compass into a clamp that would allow me to hold and spin the shape around. Necessity is the mother of invention! |

Scanners don't come with 8x10 transparency holders, so I made one! It grips the film, then the adjustment bolts (shown enlarged) pull the film taut. |

I wanted to rest my head in my hand while looking out the bus window. But the bus window doesn't have a ledge upon which to rest an elbow. So I made one! The middle part, with the profile that matches and locks into the edges of the window sill, is removable, so that it is less bulky inside my backpack. |
