The Magician & The Wheel of Fortune The Sun Ones & Nines In The Numerical Tarot:The Sun is |
THE SUNIn concluding our examination of the Trump cards, we encounter the Quaternary of the new deck. Of course the Quaternary has already been described as an equidistant numberline folded in half. In other words, the four cards of the Quaternary represent the four concentric spheres of the theoretical model of abstract patterns in nature on which the number line is based, that is; one card for each sphere.Unfortunately, there is no connection from my system to existing symbolism here. The four cards left over are Fool, Sun, Judgement, World. In my deck, I associate these cards with the numbers 4&6, 3&7, 2&8, and 1&9 respectively. I personally see correlations from these numerological associations to existing symbolism, but I am not suggesting that tarot's original creator divided the deck this same way. So I will not attempt to analyze these cards.IN THE ISOMORPHIC TAROT DECK, I illustrate each Quaternary card with its corresponding symbol from the funnel, tunnel, maze diagram (see FTM diagram elsewhere on this site). I then title each one according to the stages of the near death model (seen elsewhere on this site). The Quaternary card of the 3/7 sphere is titled Pleasure, the Peaceful Tunnel. These cards are all good in their upright positions, representing one's passage to heaven. However, when reversed, or upside down, they represent a passage into hell. The 3/7 path to hell is labeled Pain, the Violent River.Actually there are a few things about my Peaceful Tunnel card that could correlate to the Sun card. In the near death model, the peaceful tunnel stage is the point at which spiritual connectivity is sensed. It is the transitional point between life and death. In that sense it correlates to the sense and celebration of life found in the Sun card.IN THE NUMERICAL TAROT DECK, (UNDER CONSTRUCTION, COME BACK LATER!)-----NOTE: Go to the DECK section of this site, to learn more about the NAMES and titles of this deck and how they are picked to describe a gridded pattern that utilizes extremes and in-betweens. Each card in this deck is but one possible expression on a spectrum of possibilities. There is a lot more to learn, than what is being shown here. |
